This project is part of the extension of Columbia University in Harlem, New York. Throughout the new Manhattanville Campus, all streets will remain public and open to vehicular traffic, and pedes- trian access through the campus will be enhanced by tree-lined streets and widened sidewalks connecting the campus and the neighbourhood.

The Lenfest Center for the Arts, intends to open its premises to the city by creating new public facilities such as a theater, a cinema and art galleries.
