This coworking space, located in a historic Parisian engineering school, provides students with a place to work on new products, services and start-ups. Two concepts inspired the transformation of an ordinary classroom: energy and transparency, embodied by the colors yellow and blue.
Four zig zag light fixtures, reminiscent of electricity and lightning, symbolize the creative energy contained in the room. They echo the herringbone pattern of the wooden floor, emphasized by two painted blue zigzag stripes, which incorporate the electrical and internet networks. Two glass partitions transform the space into a showcase, intriguing and inspiring passersby.
The furniture is adaptable, a large modular table forms diverse configurations and eight sliding acoustic panels allow students to display their work in progress. The antique wooden bookshelves were restored and filled with colorful storage boxes, creating a visual dialogue between old and new. |
